E.ON + Uniti: the model for sustainability

Our partners each hold a vital role in helping us get the world where it needs to be. Companies like Siemens are fundamental to our “digital first” manufacturing strategy while retailers like Mediamarkt will help Uniti disrupt the traditional dealership model. In the first of a series of partner posts, we would like to share some details of our important collaboration with the energy giant E.ON.

Perhaps the most well-known aspect of our relationship is E.ON’s agreement to offer free at home charging for up to five years for people who purchase our Uniti One. The solar energy offsets used to provide this electricity make the offer not only attractive economically but sustainably as well. While the offer is currently limited to Sweden, we are in talks to extend this agreement to the UK and other launch markets. E.ON has produced numerous content promoting this relationship with Uniti, including this interview with our CEO, Lewis Horne.

E.ON already has one of Sweden’s largest public networks and is planning to be a major charging network throughout Europe. What’s really intriguing is their guarantee that all electricity from their chargers is sourced from renewables. Uniti is in discussions for further collaboration on this front and has supported E.ON at several events promoting their rollout. We featured one such event in our original content series, Uniti Update.

Beyond bringing direct benefits to our drivers, E.ON has collaborated with Uniti at numerous industry events. Recently, we shared a booth at the eCarExpo in Gothenburg to promote our vision for sustainable transport where we received fantastic feedback from the general public. Highlights from the event are available on our YouTube channel.

Our partnership with E.ON continued this February at the E-World fair in Essen, Germany. That’s where we shared a booth with E.ON’s Andreas Zelles, who spoke to our team about the impact EVs will have on the power grid. Team Uniti also met with Jonas Bohlender, who shared E.ON’s plans for the ultra-fast charging stations the company is currently building across Europe.
